The first time I came across this I had a ton of problems removing it. Now whenever I run into this I do a system restore first then run the free smitfraudfix tool and then run a full scan with Spyware Doctor. If you have Smitfraud I can gurantee you are infected with other threats as well and that is way you need to use other software besides just the smitfraud fix tool. Smitfraud is definelty bad stuff. It's not hard to remove it but the other traces it downloads lik Virtumonde and SMitfraud can be a big pain to remove. An example: I have a Mortgage with WAMU. They forced me to use Auto Pay. My payment is deducted on the 25th of each month. If I have the money sooner and I make the payment sooner, the bank will also automatically take out another payment on the 25th again. This will overdraw my account and cause much more problems. So I could save 10 days of interest, which in my case is $600 but the bank is delibertely preventing me from doing so. I tried calling customer care to change this and they laughed at me.
